Preparing for First Event

I usually don't go in on Friday's but I was off work today so I went in to help prepare and get ready for the first event that I will be at. Its the People's Medical College tomorrow and it will be based on strokes. It should be interesting.

I wasn't there really long but I helped a little with the folders that we'll be passing out and I finally got a start on cleaning out the "storage" room a.k.a. my "office" lol. It took some work and I'm almost done. I honestly think I sweat more at the hospital doing things, running around and what not that I do when I work out! To me that's a good thing because you know I'm not standing around or doing meaningless work!

I wore flats again today! Feet aren't feeling up to heels again yet.

A Few Updates. . .

This week is hospital week and there have been different things going on everyday. Today there was an employee BBQ with some lovely karaoke I might add, nice touch. Food was good :) and best part free!

This Saturday will be my first official event and I'm definitely excited about it. It will be geared towards how to go about dealing with stroke, what you can do to prevent it, signs a stroke may be occurring, and a robot! If you can't tell, I'm interested to see how that things works.

I have been doing things every day that I am there and I am glad that there is always something to do.

By the way, I wore flats today.

A Little Background Info Please?

So I am now finished with my third year (two more to go) at UofM-Dearborn. For those who may not know, I'm a double major in Public Relations and Journalism, mainly focusing on PR though. I recently interviewed for my first internship opportunity and thankfully I got the job! Where you ask? Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Sinai-Grace Hospital in their PR and Marketing department.

I actually started on May 4th and so far it's been going great. I work under three women and their boss as well. (so really that's four) But anyway. . . even though I haven't been there long I know I am going to gain so much experience just by observing how they work, what they do and how they deal with everything. It can be a crazy environment but I love that!

This is going to be an exciting summer and I can't wait to share and document all of my experiences and what I have learned through my first PR internship.
